FOR BRANDS
How to write a clear creator brief
A creator brief explains what your business offers, what the creator will make, when it is due and how the content can be used. Keep the request specific enough to agree on, with room for the creator’s own ideas.
Start with the product or experience
Describe exactly what the creator receives. Include the product quantity or what the visit covers, relevant location details, and how delivery or booking will work. A creator should not need to guess what is included.
Explain what matters about your business in plain language. A product detail, a process or an experience the creator can actually show is a better starting point than a broad request to “make it go viral.”
Make the deliverables easy to check
Specify content files, social posts or both. If you need a vertical video, say how many videos and the approximate duration. If a post is required, name the platform. Explain essential points while giving the creator room to propose how to tell the story.
- Offer: what is provided, quantities and any conditions.
- Deliverables: number of files or posts, format and approximate length.
- Content: the experience or product details to show, plus any essential factual information.
- Timing: proposed visit or delivery and the content deadline.
- Review: any agreed revisions and who checks the deliverables.
- Usage: channels, duration, edits and whether paid advertising is included.
- Costs: any delivery, travel, additional payment or extra work to agree.
Use examples to explain the style
Haggles supports reference links and example video uploads when creating a deal. Choose examples that clarify pacing, framing or the type of demonstration you want. Explain what you like about each one.
References describe a direction; they are not permission to copy someone else’s work. Avoid sharing confidential material or files you are not entitled to use.
An example of a specific request
Keep an example tied to the actual exchange. This sample describes a possible café collaboration; it is not a live Haggles deal.
Review the brief before publishing
Read the offer as if you were a creator seeing the business for the first time. Remove unclear promises, check that the deliverables match the offer, and make sure the dates are realistic. Your final agreement should reflect what both sides accepted.
On Haggles, complete your brand setup and team review first. Your first offer starts as a draft. Add the deal details and photos, review it and publish when ready. On Free, the draft counts towards your one open deal, and you can review the first three distinct applicants. You can compare the current options on the pricing page.
Start with a brief template
Download the plain-text template, open it in any text editor and replace the prompts with your own offer. Review the final details with the creator.
