THE ESSENTIALS

How product-for-content collaborations work

A product-for-content collaboration is an agreed exchange: a business provides a product or experience, and a creator makes specified content in return. The content, timing and permitted use should be clear before either side starts.

What is actually being exchanged?

A business might offer a product to try, a meal or an in-person experience. The creator might deliver a short video, photos, a post on their own social account, or a combination. Content files and a published social post are different deliverables: neither automatically includes the other.

Haggles gives brands a place to publish that offer and creators a way to apply with a pitch. The brand chooses among the applicants available on its plan. An offer does not guarantee applications, a creator’s acceptance, audience reach or sales.

Agree the details before accepting

A useful brief lets the creator decide whether the exchange fits their work. Give enough detail to avoid surprises after the product has been sent or the visit has happened.

  • What the creator receives, including quantities, visit conditions or delivery arrangements.
  • The number and format of files, posts or both, with any reference examples.
  • The deadline and any agreed review or revision process.
  • Where and for how long the business may use the content, including whether advertising is permitted.
  • Any delivery charges, additional payment, travel or extra work.

How the exchange works on Haggles

After account setup and approval, the brand publishes a deal. An eligible creator reads the terms, sends a pitch and requests the relevant date. The brand reviews the application and accepts the creator when the match and agreement are right.

The accepted collaboration opens in Messages. The brand confirms that the product has been sent or the visit arranged. The creator confirms receipt or completion of the visit; this starts the content deadline. The creator then submits the required files or links for the brand to review.

The collaboration keeps the agreement, messages and submitted content together. Revisions depend on the agreement and the brand’s plan. The brand completes the collaboration after reviewing the agreed deliverables.

Product exchange does not mean there are no costs

The business still provides the agreed product or experience. Both sides should agree any delivery costs, extra work or separate payment before accepting. Do not assume a creator will provide additional posts, edits or advertising rights for the same offer.

Creators use Haggles free. The brand Free plan includes one brand, one open deal at a time—including drafts—and access to the first three distinct creator applicants per deal. During the current website beta, the team can grant temporary Reach access at no charge; it is not automatic. Accelerate is not currently available.

Choose an exchange that makes sense for both sides

Brands can review the available profiles and pitches for relevance to the brief. Creators can assess the product, work required, deadlines and content rights before applying. A clear, realistic exchange is more useful than promising results neither side can control.
